Garters Gown Dedication Saturday,
June 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
In
1953, while under contract with Paramount
Studios, Rosemary Clooney filmed the "musical
spoof of westerns," Red Garters
with Guy Mitchell, Jack Carson, Buddy Ebsen,
Pat Crowley and Gene Berry.
As
was the case for all of Rosemary's Paramount
movies, multi-Oscar winner Edith Head designed
all of her beautiful costumes. The most
elaborate of the Victorian style gowns was the one worn
in the title song's production number Red
Garters which found Rosemary singing
on a bar with a host of chorus girls.
At
2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, Nick and Nina
Clooney will help The Rosemary Clooney House
dedicated this gown to it's collection of
costumes worn by Rosemary.
